A Deep-Rooted Past, A Strong Future

Our department was established in 1967 under the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical School as the “Naval Architecture Option.” It became an independent department in 1982, assuming its current identity. As one of Türkiye’s most established and respected naval engineering departments, we maintain a pioneering position in the field with our strong academic staff and practice-oriented education model closely aligned with the maritime industry.

A Strong Academic Staff

Our department's academic team consists of:

  • 10 Professors
  • 8 Associate Professors
  • 3 Assistant Professors
  • 3 Research Assistants (PhD)
  • 13 Research Assistants

totaling 37 academic personnel.

Our educational activities are conducted in line with international standards and are supported by theoretical knowledge, practical courses, and industry collaborations.
